whatcha doing Wednesday?

Reading:

here is what I am reading this week

I bought this series months ago and have read it off and on in between other books.  It is a fun, easy, fast read.  It is easy to pick up in the middle, which means it is also easy to put down for something better that comes along, but still I would recommend it if you want a quick easy read.

Knitting:
I am working on Blaine's baby blanket (which feels like it is taking forever, but is almost done, no photos until baby is born!)

I am also working on a scarf for myself...or maybe to sell since I have an outlet for my knitting now!!
pictures next week.

Nails:
this week I did essie jamaican me crazy with OPI divine swine  quick and easy!

togs tuesday

Tough one since I didn't take photos this week...will be better about that in the coming times.  I wore my favorite skinny jeans (avenue, can't find anywhere to buy a second, third pair) and several layered looks this week.  It was cold here so wore a lot of colored T'shirts with sweaters and scarves.  I worked most days so wore my tennis shoes, even though I would adore wearing boots to work my foot just can't handle it.
see posted polyvore of close to what I wore (or what it would have looked like if i had unlimited closet space and money!)
Togs tuesday will get better with photos!!!!
and I plan to let A get her creativity going with clothing posts on here!

Mangia Monday

What's on the menu, Pumba?

Tator tot hotdish:
watterson staple!  Every time I post that we are having this several relatives have just had it, or are going to have it.  Turned out great as always, though I made a larger batch so needed to add more creamed corn for flavor.

Roasted Chicken with roasted vegetables
Bear ended up buying a roasted chicken and a roasted turkey breast in the deli (the turkey breast was new to us and quite good).  We roasted potatoes and carrots in olive oil with garlic.  Made sure to make plenty so had them for leftover lunch.

Crunchy black bean tacos from pinterest.
http://www.endlesssimmer.com/2012/04/04/cornerstone-cooking-crunchy-black-bean-tacos/
is the link I used.  I did change it up a bit because I left out onion, added a ton of garlic, left out the avocado.
These were fantastic and will be added to our "regulars" M ate 6 of them!!
We used trader joe's pepper jelly, very close to Chevy's jalepeno jelly, but a bit chunkier.  The taste was very good though and we'll use up the rest of the jar for sure, but my quest continues...if only chevys would sell me vats of theirs.

We ended up going out for dinner for what would have been my dad's birthday  We usually do chinese food  that night, but ended up with breakfast for dinner.  Bear had the "dad's meal" and had chicken fried steak with brown gravy on the fries.

Next week photos will be added to food posts (If I remember~)

Starting again!

I've decided to revive this little part of the web!  There will be some changes coming in the next few weeks, trying to figure it all out.
Manga Mondays, the food we are eating.
Togs Tuesday, what are we wearing (or wishing we were wearing!)
Whatcha doing Wednesday, knitting, nails, books ect!
Thoughts Thursdays, pop culture, family stuff, maybe some politics, roundup of favorites on the web
Photo Fridays, this should get me using my camera more!

Hope to get some creative juices flowing.
